Thin Green Line

If you missed Sean Willmore The Thin Green Line Foundation story on Australian Story on Sunday night you can catch up right now on:

 ABC iviewhttp://iview.abc.net.au/programs/australian-story/

It is well worth viewing and sharing with your friends.

The work being done to support Park Rangers  around the world is impressive.  Support is provided for training, equipment, education of children and the support of widows.

A rough ride to the future

I have just finished reading A Rough Ride to the Future.  What a surprise!

His discussion of "Accelerated Evolution" is revealing as is his belief that the survival of humans is essential to the evolution of the earth.

His exploration the future existence of life based on a human/electronic combination.

He asks whether human survival will depend on a retreat to cities - see the termite mounds.

Did you know that as the sun ages it produces more energy?

Education for Sustainability and the Curriculum Project - Final Report

The Australian Education for Sustainability Alliance’s (AESA) final report for the Education for Sustainability and the Australian Curriculum Project Phases 1 to 3 has now been released.

It can be found at: www.educationforsustainability.org.au.

The report’s main findings reveal teachers’ lack of awareness of how EfS can be effectively incorporated into the Australian Curriculum. .

Recommendations from the research findings include providing more classroom ready resources for teachers, more face-to-face professional development, especially through the development of an EfS ‘getting started pack’, and strengthening support networks such as peer learning activities for teachers.

The final phase involves the sharing of the findings and recommendations and the enhancement of EfS support  for teachers.

A Rough Ride to the Future

I am currently reading James Lovelock's - A Rough Ride to the Future.

It is very interesting and challenging.  Worth a read.

Has anyone else read it?

More to come when I have finished reading it.
