Background
AAEE Queensland Chapter is hosting an Australian Education for Sustainability Alliance Workshop via a Webinar in 2013, “Education for Sustainability through the Australian Curriculum in Queensland Schools”

Why a Webinar?
Recognising the importance of including as many participants as possible whilst keeping our carbon footprint to a minimum, we agreed on holding a statewide Webinar, with individuals joining in from their home/work, or choosing to meet at a “hub” (location which enables webinars to be viewed in a group setting such as a school, university, council offices etc. (For example: Griffith University Ecocentre, Brisbane and James Cook University, Cairns)

Meeting format?
We see the meeting being held for a whole day, with a number of sessions:
First Session: 9:00 to 10:30 Overview with everyone online. Graham Tupper to provide an overview of the research project.
Morning tea: 10:30 to 11:00
Second Session: 11:00 to 12:30 Hub discussion off line. Engaging with EEfS professionals and practioners in your regional setting.
Lunch: 12:30 to 1:30
Third Session: 1:30 to 3:30. Report back from hubs and Action Plan for the future; Call to action.

Who is invited?
We are trying to cast the net as wide as possible, so if you know of those involved in education for sustainability as practitioners, or those supporting delivery (Teachers, Principals, Heads of Departments, Planners, Local Government, NRM Groups, Professional Association reps etc etc) we want to invite them.
Please forward contact details including name address, mobile number, email, and skype address to  aaeeqld@gmail.com with “AESA Webinar” in the subject line ASAP to be kept informed.

Graham Tupper, Australian Conservation Foundation, on behalf of the Australian Education for Sustainability Alliance (AESA) is managing a DEEWR funded project over the next 18 months to engage with a wide variety of mainstream teachers and educators, as well as with decision makers in government, to recommend ways to:
1.     improve the accessibility of high quality classroom ready resources;
2.     support the alignment of EEfS learning tools and programs with the Australian Curriculum;
3.     provide better training and support services for teachers and educators programs to enable efficient delivery of sustainability learning outcomes across the Australian Curriculum.
